The wind kicked up a bit but fish were being caught. I weighed a couple nice pompano from south beach. Pompano were hitting from ramp 43 to Ramp 55. Ramp 45 had bluefish and Spanish mackerel. Spanish and blues are loving the sting silvers when the water is clear. We have tons of different options in weight and color with our shore lures.  Sea Mullet were scattered about from Avon Pier to ramp 49. Some bluefish were also reported off Ramp 55. The sound is producing a good number of trout with some nice keepers mixed in with the dinks. Grubs, of the soft plastic variety, seem to be working best. Gulps and Z-man plastics are great for jigging for trout, puppy drum, and flounder, and will get you on the fish. Those fishing with mirror lures (which we have a great selection of, by the way) are getting bigger trout, but not as many fish.

This weekend should be beautiful fishing weather, and with all the extra traffic on the island, everyone stay safe, and may the fish gods be with you.
