Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish were the fish of the day. Anglers report consistent catches of Spanish this morning when the metal throws were not being crowded out by bait fishermen, some spanish were in the 2-3 lb range. Bluefish were caught on bait pretty much up and down the beach as long as you wanted to catch them. Speckled trout, pompano and blue fish were reported from the piers with nearshore boats reporting large schools of Spanish. Fishermen from the north continue to report nice catches of big drum. Please remember your manners when crossing the Bonner Bridge. We have good numbers of anglers fishing both the upcoming Capital City 4-Wheelers tournament and fishing for fun. When we remember our manners it’s more fun for everyone……
