When the virus hit in this spring the National Park Service like almost all state, federal, and county bodies had to come up with protocols on how to maintain social distancing.  Remember that this is mostly just local folks here and not the regular crowds.  Most all of us tried to stay a little bit apart and especially on Cape Point.

Well, that was fine except for the Buxton liar who maintained all spring that the virus was not real and just made up to hurt his business.  Every day he and family would park right on the tip of the point bringing friends and so on to congregate.  It finally got so bad that a NPS ranger warned them that playing volleyball and being so crowded was wrong.  The liar promptly called the NPS superintendent and yelled and shouted to no avail.

Well that led up to the liar spreading rumors that I was trying to close Cape Point.  This could not be further from the truth since I spent a bunch of effort this spring trying to keep the point open.  For 50 years I have been at the fore front of trying to keep access open on our beaches.  While unbelievable the lies this individual puts out they still are an attack on everything honorable and right.

So this brings the point of all of this to what happens today.  Every time I have driven by our early voting station at the local high school I see my friends in the Republican booth advertising for the way it is.  Then I look to the Democratic booth and there sits one of the main reasons our beaches are closed today.  Let Pelocci and her crew of socialists be elected and they will be back.  While  the current access plan has not worked for protecting birds and such it accomplished what the real goal was and that was denying access to millions of Americans so that the few could be out there when most of us could not.  I worry about who is going to fight for us the next  time around because  we are losing our fighters year after year.

Vote today and help stop this travesty before it starts.  Bob Eakes
