The opening day of cobia season did not disappoint. There were 4 or 5 landed off the beach. My  morning started off with a little excitement, Keith was so ready for cobia season he sent me out to get swiped by sharks with two cobia baits. I got bumped twice and watched my hard paddled baits get ate as soon as I dropped them from the kayak. Dang biters. Keith came through with a 37 incher though, so all is forgiven even if he laughed, he did. We did a citation pompano and sea mullet at the shop today. A 3 lbs pompano and 2 lbs sea mullet. Spanish showed up on the point as soon as I came into work. Bluefish were out there all day as well. Pompano were biting down 48. A few small blowtoads were caught off ramp 38. Also Keith is still up on Miss Dede by a count of 2-0 in Spanish mackerel. Miss Dede is not worried as she hasn’t even got to throw for Spanish yet.
